The crowd chanted anti-Vučić slogans and waved flags as they marched through the Serbian capital. Some protesters waved the flags of Denmark and Greenland, which were this month at the center of a dispute between the U.S. administration and European countries after President Donald Trump demanded the U.S. take control of Denmark's Arctic territory. Protests have swept Serbia for more than a year now following the deaths of 16 people in a railway station roof collapse in Novi Sad in November 2024, a disaster which protesters blame on corruption. The protests, led by students, are demanding reforms and fresh elections.
