The satellites are believed to be government versions of Starlink spacecraft and are expected to operate in low Earth orbit. According to the NRO, the satellites will contribute to a planned constellation intended to deliver “actionable information faster than ever before.” The deployment program began in 2024 and is scheduled for completion by 2029.
