Officers stopped the passenger for a routine inspection and checked three suitcases, where they discovered 356 tightly wrapped packages containing green plant material. Initial drug tests identified the substance as khat, a stimulant plant commonly used in parts of Africa and the Middle East but illegal in Poland. Laboratory analysis later confirmed the presence of cathinone, a controlled psychoactive substance. Authorities said the drugs had an estimated street value of about €82,000. Cash found on the suspect was also seized. The suspect was arrested and charged with smuggling narcotics. A court ordered him to be placed in pre-trial detention for three months. If convicted, he faces up to 20 years in prison.
