The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) detailed a scheme involving regular advance payments and explicit voting instructions, including abstentions on certain bills. Tymoshenko denied the allegations, calling them politically motivated after investigators searched offices belonging to her party. The case comes weeks after authorities uncovered a separate cash-for-votes scheme in parliament and amid heightened scrutiny following a major corruption scandal at the state-run nuclear energy company Energoatom.
