The Russian energy group’s assets in Poland have been frozen since Moscow’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022. The funds stem from Gazprom’s former 48% stake in the Yamal pipeline operator, later transferred to state-owned Orlen. UOKiK head Tomasz Chróstny says the plan has Justice Ministry backing but requires approval from the Tax and Customs Service which is overseen by the Finance Ministry.
