The move comes after Lithuania shut several border crossings with its eastern neighbor in October, blaming waves of “smuggling balloons” launched from Belarus that have been interfering with air traffic. Minsk has since frozen all truck movements in both directions and says it will only reopen routes once Lithuania lifts its restrictions. More than 1,000 Lithuanian trucks are now stranded in Belarus, with Vilnius scrambling to bring them home through diplomatic channels.
