The 136-meter vessel, fitted with two rigid sails, sustained minor damage to its aft sail but successfully reached port after crossing the Atlantic. French company Neoline, the developer behind the project, says the ship can cut greenhouse gas emissions by around 80% compared with conventional diesel vessels, which produce about 3% of global CO₂ emissions.
