Speaking alongside his Finnish counterpart, Elina Valtonen, Sikorski praised Finland’s civil defense systems and called for continued joint efforts to counter Russia’s “shadow fleet,” which he said poses serious risks to both maritime safety and the environment in the Baltic Sea. Following their talks in Warsaw, Valtonen said Finland wants to impose tariffs on all Russian imports. In a post on X, Valtonen said Finland and Poland share a goal of making Europe “more secure and prosperous” and reiterated both countries’ support for Ukraine and efforts to weaken Russia’s ability to wage war.
