GLOBSEC Interview with Kurt Volker

America’s commitment to NATO would shrivel over time if alliance members did not agree to spend 5% of their GDP on defense, Kurt Volker, a former U.S. ambassador to NATO, has warned. In an interview with TVP World’s Aaron Dahmen at the GLOBSEC international security forum in Prague, Volker said: “With Europe agreeing to this high defense spending target and taking responsibility for security in Europe, it's going to strengthen NATO and it's going to make the U.S. more respectful of our European allies and more committed to European allies because it will be a more even bargain."
