Rafal Trzaskowski, the mayor of Poland’s capital Warsaw, remains the leading candidate in the country’s 2025 presidential race. However, his support has slipped, according to a new poll.

Trzaskowski is running with the centrist Civic Coalition (KO), the main party in Poland’s current governing coalition. The survey, conducted by research firm Opinia24, found that if the election were held this week, he would win 31.5% of the vote in the first round—still the highest share among candidates, but lower than in previous polls.

His main challenger is Karol Nawrocki, officially an independent candidate but backed by the right-wing conservative Law and Justice party (PiS). Nawrocki is polling at 20.1% and would face Trzaskowski in a likely runoff.

In a second-round matchup, Trzaskowski would win with 48.2% of the vote, compared to 39.8% for Nawrocki. However, Trzaskowski’s support has dropped from 52.1% in March, while Nawrocki’s has increased by 3.5 percentage points.

Meanwhile, Sławomir Mentzen, the candidate of the far-right Confederation party, appears to be losing momentum. After rising in the polls in recent weeks, his support has fallen from 19% to 14.7%.

Voter turnout is projected at 69%, based on a representative sample of 1,000 adults surveyed between April 7 and 9.
