Latvia has sent 1,500 drones to Ukraine as part of an international Drone Coalition aimed at ensuring Ukraine’s supremacy over Russia with UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles).
Latvia’s Defense Minister Andris Sprūds announced the deployment of drones on X on April 1 alongside images of a truck loaded with the drones being delivered.
In February, the minister confirmed Latvia’s commitment to supplying 12,000 domestically produced drones during the first half of 2025, news website United 24 Media reported.
The coalition now includes 18 member countries: Latvia, the U.K., Australia, Czechia, Denmark, France, Estonia, Italy, New Zealand, Canada, Lithuania, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Germany, Sweden and Ukraine.
On March 24, Ukraine’s Defense Ministry announced that the coalition has allocated €20 million to procure reconnaissance drones for Ukraine.
