Poland is supporting international efforts to locate Anzhalika Melnikava, the Chairwoman of the Belarusian Coordination Council, who went missing on March 25 along with her two daughters, officials said on Saturday.
Jacek Dobrzyński, spokesman for Poland's Ministry of the Interior, reported that representatives of the Belarusian Coordination Council have been unable to contact its chairwoman Anzhalika Melnikava for several days.
"Polish services will support the efforts of the services of other countries and the Belarusian Coordination Council to determine the whereabouts of Ms. Melnikava," Jacek Dobrzyński said on X.
Belarusian rights group Viasna reported her disappearance on Friday, with opposition leader Pavel Latushka alerting Polish authorities. Melnikava, a key figure in Belarus’s democratic movement, is believed to be outside Poland and possibly beyond the EU, opposition sources said.
