Robert Lewandowski has overtaken the legendary Brazilian Ronaldinho on FC Barcelona’s all-time top scorers’ list, thanks to his goal against Osasuna on Thursday.
The Pole came off the bench in the 68th minute with Barça leading 2-0 and just nine minutes later he netted a thumping header to cap off a blistering counterattack.
The Catalan side’s 3-0 victory means they have retaken the lead in the Spanish league table with a total of 63 points—a three-point advantage over fierce rivals Real Madrid.
Lewandowski's 77th-minute header was his 23rd league goal this season. He leads the league’s top scorer list ahead of Real’s star attacker Kylian Mbappé, who has netted 20 times.
The goal was also Lewandowski’s 95th in Barcelona’s famous red-and-blue kit. It elevated him to the 20th position on the club’s all-time top scorers’ list, ahead of Ronaldinho, who played for the club between 2003 and 2008.
Next in line for Lewandowski is Pedro, who notched 99 goals for the team.
Thursday’s match, originally scheduled for March 8, had been postponed after the death of Barcelona’s doctor, 53-year-old Carles Minarro, who suffered a heart attack a few hours before the first whistle.
