Medical staff at a hospital in southwestern Poland proved their compassion extends beyond human patients when a weak and starving rabbit hopped into their emergency ward in search of help.
Nurses were stunned when the dehydrated bunny appeared at the hospital in Oława, following them around before clinging to one of their legs for warmth.
Realizing the animal was in distress, staff immediately wrapped it in a blanket, provided water, and arranged for a taxi to take it to a wildlife rehabilitation center in the nearby city of Wrocław.
Heartwarming photos later posted on social media show the rabbit eagerly drinking from a syringe.
“A lost, hungry rabbit hopped into the ER at the hospital in Oława... and miracles happened,” the rehab center wrote on Facebook. “The people of Oława moved heaven and earth to find help for the little one.”
They added that in an act of kindness, the taxi driver refused to accept payment for the journey.
“We thank all the good people who helped save this little one's life!” the center continued.
“The bunny is the size of a fist, came to us extremely hungry, and immediately went for the baby formula milk we prepared.”

Social media users have now flooded the post with praise for the hospital staff and the driver.
“He knew exactly where to find help. Bravo to everyone who provided it for him,” one commenter wrote.
Another added: “Cooperation pays off. Greetings to everyone who took part in the incident, nice of the driver.”
The rescued rabbit has since been introduced to other bunnies at the rehab center, where it was quickly accepted into the group.
“Our other bunnies accepted the little one as their brother—first sniffing and licking, then full acceptance,” the center wrote.
“The older ones immediately took care of him—that’s the role of the older ones.”
