Bogdanka LUK Lublin have secured their first-ever European trophy, defeating Italian powerhouse Cucine Lube Civitanova to claim the CEV Challenge Cup title.

The Polish club triumphed 5-4 on aggregate in the two-legged final. Despite a 3-2 (27:25, 25:21, 36:38, 20:25, 15:7) loss in Italy on Tuesday, their 3-1 home victory was enough to seal the championship.

Bogdanka fended off multiple match points before securing the crucial sets needed to lift the trophy, according to VolleyTimes. Poland international and global star Wilfredo León was once again in top form, inspiring the team to victory with multiple aces. Bogdanka now becomes the third Polish club to lift the Challenge Cup—the third most prestigious trophy in European club competition. AZS Częstochowa won in 2012 and Projekt Warszawa were last year’s victors.

Jastrzębski Węgiel staged an impressive comeback against Olympiacos Piraeus, overturning a 2-3 first leg defeat with a commanding 3-0 victory to progress. The two Polish clubs will now face off in the semifinals, ensuring at least one Polish representative in the Champions League final, which will take place in Łódź, central Poland, from May 16-18.
