Elon Musk has launched another verbal attack on Radosław Sikorski, the Polish foreign minister, calling him a “Soros puppet” on X on Monday.
Musk was responding to another X user's post, which included a picture of Sikorski with George Soros’s son, Alex, who took over the reins of his father’s Open Society Foundations last year.
The tech billionaire wrote, “Yes, he is a Soros puppet.”
Soros has become something of a bête noire in some conservative and right-wing circles, which accuse him of using his fortune to undermine the democratic order and push a “globalist” agenda.
Musk’s latest jibe aimed at the Polish minister follows a spat between the two over the weekend during which the American called Sikorski a “small man.”
Rallying to Sikorski’s defense, Republican congressman Don Bacon criticized Musk.
“I served with Polish soldiers, I was in Poland and I don't know of any country that is more pro-American than Poland,” he said in an interview with CNN.
“They want our presence and they also know that the collapse of Ukraine would be devastating for their national security, not only for Poland but for the Baltic states. And I thought, why is a White House official, who was not even elected, humiliating a Polish foreign minister?” he said.
“This is not okay. We need more discipline in the White House. Poland is our friend. If you have a problem with them, call them and talk to them, but stop publicly criticizing our friends in a world where we have real threats from China, Russia and Iran,” he added.
