Poland remained the world’s second-largest exporter of large household appliances in 2024, with a 9% global market share, according to a new report.

China led the market with a 35% share, said the report by the Applia Household Appliances Employers’ Association.

Poland produced over 26 million household appliances last year, generating revenues of 26.9 billion złoty (€6.2 billion).

Large appliances, including washing machines, dishwashers and ovens, accounted for 90% of the total, according to the report.

Poland exported more than 24 million appliances in 2024, with the total export value reaching nearly 23 billion złoty.

While this marked a 5% decline in local currency terms, the value remained stable in euros. Over half of exports went to Germany, France, the UK and Italy.

The sector employs around 32,000 people, with the Lower Silesia province in southern Poland and the central city of Łódź the key manufacturing hubs.

The average gross salary in the industry rose 10% year-on-year to over 8,000 złoty (€1,800).
