Polish President Andrzej Duda will meet with U.S. President Donald Trump on Saturday, diplomatic sources have told Poland’s state news agency PAP.

According to PAP, the meeting is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. local time (7:30 p.m. Polish time.)

It was initially reported the leaders were set to meet at the White House, but private broadcaster TVN suggests the meeting could take place during the ongoing Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Washington.

CPAC is an annual gathering of conservative activists and officials from the United States.

In recent years, the conference has also drawn right-wing European politicians, including Britain’s Nigel Farage and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán.

The development comes amid ongoing U.S.-Russia negotiations on ending the war in Ukraine, which is now approaching its third year.

The talks, which feature neither Kyiv nor the EU, have fueled concerns Trump could strike a deal with Moscow over Ukraine which undermines Europe’s security.

It also comes after U.S. special envoy for the conflict Keith Kellogg visited Warsaw on Tuesday and held talks with Duda.

Duda, whose term in office expires in 2025, was one of Trump's preferred international partners during his 2017-2021 presidency and they have described themselves as friends.
