Trump’s pro-Ukraine advisors are having a “series of bad days” in the battle for the president’s ear, Steven Moore, founder of the Ukraine Freedom Project, told TVP World.
On Wednesday, Donald Trump branded the Ukrainian president a “dictator” and urged the country to organize presidential elections.
“There’s a battle for Trump’s ear and the folks that are concerned about Ukraine, because it's a linchpin for global stability, like Rubio, Waltz and Kellogg… And then there are folks that are less interested in the outcome of Ukraine,” said Moore.
“What we're seeing is a series of bad days for the pro-Ukraine forces.
Trump’s approach might reflect his broader negotiation strategy, aiming to swiftly end the Ukraine-Russia war by initially testing Putin with ineffective tariff threats before pivoting to exert pressure on Zelenskyy for leverage.
“Trump is trying to find points of leverage in his negotiation. And you know, Trump just wants the war to end. He doesn't necessarily think about how,” Moore said.
“Well, and I think that you know, if you follow everything that Trump says and obsess about it, you will develop a dependency on anti-anxiety meds and good Polish vodka. So, take Trump seriously, but not literally,” he added.
