German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Saturday signed a memorandum of understanding on a ‘Unity Hub’ for Ukrainian refugees in Germany.

The ‘Unity Hub,’ located in Berlin, will act as a point of contact for Ukrainian refugees in the country.

Since 2022, Germany has taken in about 1.2 million refugees from war-torn Ukraine.

The ‘Unity Hub’ will, according to the German Interior Ministry, provide cultural opportunities, language and culture courses as well as help with finding jobs in both Ukraine and Germany.

It will also give advice on returning to Ukraine voluntarily and helping to rebuild the country. It will open in the capital in the near future.

Scholz and Zelenskyy met on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference.
