Ukraine and Russia have completed another prisoner swap, with both sides securing the release of 150 soldiers.
Posting on X, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Wednesday that while the soldiers had been deployed at different points on the frontline, they were united in their service to Ukraine.
He said: “Some of these men have been held in captivity for over two years.
"For them and their families, today means more than all the years of waiting.
“They served in different parts of the frontline, but they share one thing in common: they fought for Ukraine.”
Photos shared with the post show the Ukrainian soldiers aboard a bus, draped in blue and yellow flags.
Russia’s Defense Ministry confirmed the swap, adding that the freed Russian soldiers are now in Belarus, receiving medical and psychological support.
The exchange, which was brokered by the United Arab Emirates, follows a similar deal struck in December last year.
