The foreign ministers of 11 countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom and Japan, along with the European Union, issued a joint statement on Monday condemning the “increasing military cooperation” between North Korea and Russia.

The group denounced North Korea’s reported deployment of troops to Russia and its provision of weapons, including ballistic missiles and artillery shells, calling it a “dangerous expansion of the conflict” in Ukraine.

The statement described such actions as “flagrant violations” of United Nations Security Council resolutions.

“Direct DPRK support for Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine marks a dangerous expansion of the conflict, with serious consequences for European and Indo-Pacific security,” the statement read.

The ministers expressed deep concern over Russia’s alleged role in supporting North Korea’s weapons programs, including those involving weapons of mass destruction.
