Poland’s Aleksandra Król-Walas has finished second in the Women’s Parallel Giant Slalom at the International Ski and Snowboard Federation World Cup in Carezza, Italy.
Król-Walas finished just 0.14 of a second behind the winner, Jasmin Coratti of Italy. Third place was taken by Japan’s Miki Tsubaki.
Poland’s Maria Bukowska-Chyc finished eighth while Weronika Dawidek was knocked out of the event in the qualifying rounds.
Thursday’s silver in the Dolomites was Król-Walas’s second podium finish since returning to competition this year after giving birth. The result was her sixth individual top-three performance of her career, and her fifth second-place achievement.
In the season’s opening event in Mylin, China, she also came second. The Pole currently ranks third in the World Cup overall standings.
