Based on a series of fantasy books of the same name by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski, the action role-playing game centers around the character of Geralt of Rivia, a seasoned monster hunter in a fantasy world of magic, political intrigue and dangerous creatures.
Initially announced in 2022, the studio says that 400 developers, comprising the majority of CD Projekt’s 650-person team, are currently working on the 4th installment.
The company said that game is due for release not before 2025.
According to the studio, although Geralt of Rivia will make an appearance, he will no longer be the main character.
Voice actor Doug Cockle, who famously voiced Geralt, previously hinted at this, confirming Geralt’s involvement but signaling the passing of the torch.
Game director Kalemba said: “No stopping now! Stay tuned for what’s on the other side of the coin!”
