A Polish kebab shop has achieved online fame after posting a video of a man proposing to his girlfriend at the eatery.
The man and his bride-to-be shared that ‘loving filling’ with the internet after they became engaged among doners and shishes.
The Stambul Lux kebab shop in the central Polish city of Kielce posted a video clip of the lovebirds to TikTok, which has since been viewed more than 800,000 times.
Apart from the setting, it was a very traditional proposal with the man kneeling with a ring and a bouquet of flowers as the dulcet strains of George Michael’s Careless Whisper played in the background.
The girl said yes.
Social media users were quick to offer their best wishes to the happy couple with comments coming thick and fast.
“I think it’s beautiful,” one person commented. “He took her to where he could afford. You can see they’re humble people. Maybe he saved a long time for the ring. I wish them lots of happiness.”
“Better such a proposal where both people love each other than a proposal for millions for show and then a break-up after six months,” another wrote.
“People laugh but I met my husband in a kebab shop,” one woman commented. “A beef kebab in pita, mixed sauce, and that was it.”
Kielce has long been known as Poland’s kebab Mecca due to its high number of outlets.
Now it is also the capital of rotisserie romance; it may be only a matter of time before Stambul Lux hears the ‘pita’ patter of tiny feet.
