Polish package locker tycoon, InPost, has launched an international shipping service to six Western European countries, offering a low-cost alternative to airline baggage fees.
The initiative counters rising costs in air travel, where low-cost airlines like Ryanair and Wizz Air rely on high baggage fees for their profit.
InPost has introduced international shipping to Belgium, France, Spain, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, and Italy, with plans to expand to the United Kingdom soon.
CEO Rafał Brzoska described the service as a “groundbreaking solution,” offering a convenient and affordable alternative to airline baggage fees.
Brzoska further highlighted InPost’s competitive edge by noting that its prices are significantly lower than courier services like DHL and DPD.
Small parcels up to 25 kilograms can be sent for just 28.99 zlotys (around €7), while medium and large parcels cost €11.50 and €12.50, respectively. “This is unmatched in convenience and cost,” Brzoska said in a social media post.
The service, targeting travelers and businesses, allows customers to drop parcels at InPost lockers in Poland for pickup at similar locations abroad. Brzoska confirmed plans to upgrade lockers to accommodate larger, cabin-sized luggage.
With demand expected to surge during the holiday season, InPost’s new service is positioned to challenge traditional shipping and travel models across Europe.
