Two of Poland’s top Olympic athletes have taken their love for their homeland off the track and onto the screen.

In a new promotional video by the Polish Tourism Organization, acclaimed Olympians Natalia Bukowiecka (née Kaczmarek) and Maria Andrejczyk, invite viewers to explore Poland’s natural and cultural treasures.

“When the stadium lights go out, I return to Masuria,” says Bukowiecka, a 400m runner and an Olympic bronze medalist from Paris 2024. Her fellow athlete Andrejczyk, an Olympic silver medalist from Tokyo 2020 in the javelin, adds, “And I return to Podlasie.”

The campaign promotes the serene beauty of Poland, from the tranquil forests and lakes of Podlasie to the sailing-friendly waters of Masuria. The clip aims to inspire both international visitors and locals to discover the country’s hidden gems.
“Poland, with its people, attractions, and traditions, is worth every moment,” says Bukowiecka.

Having spent over 300 days a year away from their homes, both athletes value the time they can spend in Poland, especially in their beloved region.

For Andrejczyk, Podlasie offers “silence and harmony.” In the video, she takes viewers to her favorite spots in the region: the Stańczyki viaducts, Góra Cisowa, Suwałki’s lakes, Wigry National Park and the Czarna Hańcza River.

Bukowiecka favors the outdoor activities in Masuria, urging people to “come and swim, run or bike around the lakes.” Her favorite spot? Lake Ukiel in Olsztyn, where she enjoys walks toward the Old Town.

The athletes also expressed pride in performing at home, especially at the Silesian Stadium, which will host the 2024 Diamond League. “We’re ambassadors for Poland,” says Andrejczyk. “It’s not just about sport—it’s about sharing the beauty of where we come from.”
