Poland claimed the bronze medal in the first-ever Women’s Amputee Football World Cup after emerging victorious in the third-place playoff.

The Polish team defeated Kenya 1-0 in Barranquilla, Colombia, with Monika Kukla scoring the decisive goal just two minutes into the game, bringing her tournament tally to four. In the group stages, Poland suffered a narrow 0-1 loss to the hosts, Colombia, but bounced back strongly with an emphatic 5-0 victory over Brazil.

In the quarterfinals, they edged out Ecuador 1-0 before a tense semifinal against the U.S., which they ultimately lost 1-3 in a penalty shootout.

Hosts Colombia will now face the U.S. in the final.
