Poland is the sole financial supporter of Starlink modules used by Ukrainian soldiers, the country’s foreign minister, Radosław Sikorski, said on Thursday.
Starlink modules provide satellite-based internet and have been instrumental in helping Ukrainian forces maintain defense capabilities against Russian aggression.
Though Starlink is owned by Elon Musk’s aerospace company SpaceX, Sikorski says the modules are paid for by Poland.
He said: “These Starlink modules, which are in use in Ukraine, are not sponsored by Mr. Elon Musk, but are and will be financed exclusively by Poland. We are doing it, and no one else is doing it.”
The foreign minister addressed the issue while discussing Poland's stance ahead of the international summit in Ramstein, Germany, focused on military support for Ukraine.
Earlier in May the Polish Ministry of Digitization said it is financing the operation of 20,000 Starlink internet devices in Ukraine to provide a network for the country’s military communications.

The summit, originally planned for October 12, has been postponed following a White House announcement that President Biden has delayed his trip to Germany due to Hurricane Milton.
Sikorski also noted that the summit is meant for government leaders, not heads of state.
“That is why we prepared a statement for President Duda, allowing him to speak on behalf of Poland about what we've done and what we plan to do for Ukraine,” he said.
