Paweł Wąsek secured his career-first Summer Grand Prix victory at the normal hill ski jumping event in Rasnov, Romania, on Saturday.

Wąsek, who jumped 95 meters in the first round and 92 meters in the second, claimed the win with a narrow 2.3-point lead over Wohlgenannt and 4.4 points over Bickner, securing 250.9 points.

Italy's Alex Insam, who finished 10th in Rasnov, now leads the overall Grand Prix standings with 213 points after competing in all five events so far. He is followed by Norway's Marius Lindvik and Austria's Stefan Kraft, who both are 13 points behind.

Wąsek is currently the highest-ranked Pole, sitting in fourth place with 163 points.

In the women's competition, Italy's Lara Malsiner won, followed by fellow Italian Annika Sieff, with Japan's Nozomi Maruyama in third. Poland's Anna Twardosz finished 16th.

Japan's Sara Takanashi remains the leader of the women's Grand Prix standings with 180 points, despite not competing in Rasnov.

More individual events are scheduled in Rasnov, with the women's competition starting at 10:30 a.m. and the men's at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday.

Stoch injured

Poland's top ski jumpers, such as Dawid Kubacki, Piotr Żyła, Kamil Stoch, and Aleksander Zniszczoł, did not compete in the event.

Stoch, Poland's three-time Olympic gold medalist, has injured his knee after landing a very long jump during a training session at the Wielka Krokiew hill in Zakopane. Further diagnostics to assess the injury's severity are due on Monday.

Stoch, one of the sport's all-time greats, has won Olympic gold twice in 2014 and once in 2018. This summer, he competed in just one Summer Grand Prix event, finishing 16th.
