The Netherlands will provide Ukraine with more air-to-air missiles for its F-16 fighter jets, which can target enemy aircraft, cruise missiles, or drones, Dutch news agency ANP has reported.

Dutch defense minister Ruben Brekelmans announced the new military aid package on Friday after international consultations.

While the number and type of missiles remain undisclosed for security reasons, he confirmed they will strengthen Ukraine's air defenses.

Kyiv will also receive equipment for F-16 maintenance, including spare parts, specialized tools, and materials for repairs.

Earlier in September, the Dutch minister said the Netherlands’ commitment to leading efforts in supporting Kyiv and speeding up assistance.

On Thursday, Brekelmans told a press conference that his country would continue its military support to Ukraine for as long as it was needed.

Since Russia’s invasion, the country has provided over €3.1 billion in military aid to Ukraine.
