Over 1,000 e-scooters have gone up in flames following a huge warehouse blaze in Krakow, southern Poland.

Writing on social media, the local fire department said that firefighters rushed to tackle the inferno after receiving reports of a fire at 2.25 a.m.

Two halls were affected, but fire crews were able to prevent the fire from spreading to a third warehouse containing over 2,000 car batteries and tires.

Although no injuries were reported, the fire saw 1,000 scooters and 1,000 batteries lost. Taking several hours to control, fifty firefighters were involved at the peak of the fire.

Demolition work is now underway on the two halls while investigators work to establish the cause of the blaze.
