The world’s largest football tournament for orphaned children, with 250 participants from around the globe, kicked off at Warsaw's Legia Stadium.
This marks the ninth edition of the World Championships for Orphaned Children, an event organized to offer young orphaned athletes a chance to showcase their talents on an international stage.
“These tournaments teach valuable life lessons. They show that to achieve something in life, you must work hard,” Krzysztof Kot, the coach of the Polish team told Polish public radio broadcaster Polskie Radio.We invite you to Legia Warsaw Stadium, Lazienkowska Street 3 on August 11!

He added: “Even when you step onto the pitch and lose, it’s not the end of the world. The same applies in life—you have to fight for yourself and be fair, and this will surely help them in adulthood.”
Spectators are invited to watch the matches, starting from 1:00 PM on Saturday, with free entry to the stadium.
In addition to the exciting football action, fans can enjoy special surprises, including an exhibition of the UEFA Super Cup, which will be contested by Real Madrid and Atalanta Bergamo on August 14 at the National Stadium in Warsaw.
On Sunday, after the tournament's final, a special exhibition match will take place. Former Polish national football stars, including Jerzy Dudek, Tomasz Frankowski, Maciej Żurawski, and Dariusz Dziekanowski, will take on an international team of children from orphanages, offering a thrilling conclusion to the weekend’s events.
