A Russian missile strike targeted a supermarket in the front-line town of Kostiantynivka in Ukraine’s eastern Donetsk region on Friday, resulting in at least ten deaths and 35 injuries.
“Russian terrorists hit an ordinary supermarket and a post office. There are people under the rubble. A rescue operation is underway, and everything will be done to save them,” President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated on X. Emergency services continued to sift through the debris in search of survivors.The strike on the supermarket in Kostiantynivka is yet another act of russian terror. He added: “My condolences to their families and friends who have lost their loved ones.”
Initially, Regional Governor Vadym Filashkin suggested that artillery was used in the attack but later clarified that it was carried out using an X-38 air-to-surface missile.Kostyantynivka, Donetsk region. Ukraine's largest private postal company, Nova Poshta, confirmed that its cargo office, located within the supermarket, sustained damage in the strike. "All our employees are alive. One colleague suffered a concussion and is receiving necessary medical care," the company shared on X.

Kostiantynivka, located just 13 kilometers from the active combat line in eastern Ukraine, frequently endures Russian shelling and air strikes.
The Donetsk region remains one of the most intense battle zones as Russian forces aim to advance toward the strategic eastern logistics hub of Pokrovsk.
Meanwhile, Russia has accused Ukraine of launching a cross-border assault in Russia's Kursk region earlier this week. The Kyiv military has yet to comment on this operation.
