Nearly every other Pole supports a ban on nighttime alcohol sales in cities, a recent survey has shown.
Such a measure is already in place in several Polish cities, including Krakow, Katowice, Poznań, Wrocław, and Zakopane. The idea has also been discussed in the capital, Warsaw.
The survey, conducted by SW Research and published by Polish newspaper Rzeczpospolita, found that 48.3% of respondents favor the ban, while 33.9% oppose it, and 17.8% are undecided.
The Polish government is also considering nationwide restrictions on alcohol sales to combat excessive consumption.
Proposed measures include banning alcohol sales at petrol stations between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.
