Polish teenagers have bagged a haul of 10 medals at the European Table Tennis Union’s Youth Championships in Malmö, Sweden.
The tally included three golds in the younger category. Patryk Żyworonek took first place in the boys’ singles as well as in the boys’ doubles with Samuel Michna while Katarzyna Rajkowska and Aleks Pakuła also triumphed in the mixed doubles.
Aleks Pakuła also won a silver in the boys’ doubles with Jan Mrugała and took bronze in the boys’ singles, losing to Żyworonek in the semifinal.
The under-15s girls’ team became vice-champions of Europe while in the under-19s category, Zuzanna Wielgos, who is preparing for the Paris Olympics, won a silver with Marcel Błaszczyk in the mixed doubles as well as with Anna Brzyska in the girls’ doubles.
In addition, Wielgos won bronze in the girls’ singles and also as part of the under-19s girls’ team.
