Lithuania donates €1 mln to damaged Ukrainian children’s hospital

The Lithuanian government has allocated €1 million to support the reconstruction of the Ochmatdyt Children's Hospital in Kyiv and other medical facilities in Ukraine damaged by Russian shelling, Lithuanian Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė announced on X.

Russia on Monday carried out one of the biggest shellings of Ukraine in recent months. According to the latest figures, 44 people were killed in various regions, including 34 in Kyiv.

Medical facilities in the capital bore the brunt of the attack, with two people killed at the Ochmatdyt hospital, and nine in the Adonis Clinic.

“The only way to stop the terrorist state is by scaling up support to Ukraine’s victory,” the Lithuanian premier wrote on X.

“The only just way to support Ukraine's recovery is by making the aggressor pay.” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who is at a NATO summit in Washington, announced that the damaged facility would be reconstructed and promised to assist all families whose relatives suffered in Monday's Russian attack.
