Poland’s president is to meet the Emir of Qatar on Friday to discuss business and security issues.
Andrzej Duda and Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani will meet for face-to-face talks at the Presidential Palace in Warsaw during an official visit by the Qatari head of state.
Duda’s aide Mieszko Pawlak said: “Qatar is one of the guarantors of our energy security as it is one of the main suppliers of liquefied natural gas to Poland.
“It has a tremendous significance, particularly after February 24, 2022, when together with Russia's aggression against Ukraine Russian supplies of gas to Poland ended.”
He added: “Qatar also serves a very important role in security policy as it is a country that specializes in mediation and fostering agreement between difficult partners, not only in the Persian Gulf.”
