The Polish public television TVP’s online broadcast of Poland’s Group D match against Austria in the Euro 2024 championships was hit by a distributed denial of service (DDoS) attack, the broadcaster said.
“Polish Television has again detected a DDoS attack,” TVP said on the X platform on Friday evening.
"The broadcaster immediately neutralized the threat and restored the service,” TVP reported, adding that TVP had often been the target of hacker attacks.
A similar DDoS attack was reported on Thursday, June 20, and during Poland’s match against the Netherlands in the Euro 2024 championships.
DDoS attacks block websites by overwhelming them with a flood of internet traffic.
The offices at TVP World also suffered from technical difficulties soon after the match began.
