Szymon Hołownia, Speaker of the Polish Lower House of Parliament (Sejm), laid flowers at the Wall of Remembrance in Kyiv, honoring Ukrainians who died fighting the Russian invasion.

The visit, Hołownia’s first official trip to Kyiv since taking office in December, underscored the solidarity between Poland and Ukraine.

Ukrainian officials expressed appreciation for the wreath-laying ceremony.

Olena Kondratiuk, Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada, acknowledged the significance of the visit. She tweeted: “It is valuable that the Speaker begins his visit with a wreath-laying ceremony at the Wall of Remembrance near Mykhailivska Square for those who gave their lives defending Ukraine.”

“This is an important visit for the development of inter-parliamentary cooperation and evidence of support for Ukrainian-Polish relations!” Hołownia’s visit not only paid tribute to the fallen but also aimed to bolster inter-parliamentary cooperation and demonstrate Poland's ongoing support for Ukraine amid the conflict.
