While Poland’s defeat to the Netherlands in their Euro 2024 opener left fans feeling deflated, the national team coach, Michał Probierz, was bold with his tactical innovation on the field and striking off-field in his tailored attire.

Probierz’s beige suit, checkered waistcoat, white shirt, dark tie, and brown shoes drew plenty of positive comments from the world of fashion.

The Polish Football Association (PZPN) announced at the end of May that Probierz had partnered with fashion brand Lancerto.

The public had a chance to see the new outfits in Poland’s pre-tournament friendlies at the National Stadium. In the game against Ukraine, the head coach wore a dark green suit, a double-breasted checked waistcoat, a white shirt, and a navy blue tie.
Three days later, for the match against Turkey, the coach wore an elegant gray suit.

Michał Kędziora is the man responsible for the styling concept and the selection of clothes and accessories for Probierz.

“When I joined this project, I joked that I cannot guarantee sports results, but that in terms of style, we will have the best-dressed coach at the Euros,” Kędziora said.

“I wanted to present an image of the coach as a guy who is a professional, a real boss. He is serious about his work and wants to emphasize his authority with his outfit, although this is something that coach Probierz doesn't need because he has a strong personality,” he added. Media around Europe were suitably impressed with his look from the sidelines against the Netherlands.

“Michał Probierz looks fresh,” a pundit from the British channel ITV Football said. While a BBC pundit commented that England coach Gareth Southgate had a new rival in the football world’s fashion stakes.

Probierz’s team will face Austria on Friday in a crucial match that will go a long way in deciding both his and the Austrians' fate at Euro 2024.
