Polish tennis star Iga Świątek, currently the world’s number-one women’s player, is through to the final of the French Open having beaten third-seeded Coco Gauff of the USA in straight sets on Thursday.
Świątek beat Gauff 6:2, 6:4 to reach the Grand Slam final for the fourth time. She has previously won the title in 2020, 2022 and 2023 and is striving for her third consecutive victory in Paris.
The second semi-final pits Italy’s Jasmine Paolini, seeded 12th, against Mirra Andreeva of Russia (38 in the WTA ranking).
The final will be played on Saturday June 8.
