The first ammunition deliveries from the Czech initiative will arrive in Ukraine in June, Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala announced on Tuesday.
The Czech initiative aims to supply Ukraine with nearly one million artillery shells, funded by a coalition of 20 countries, through purchases from non-EU countries.
Fiala will discuss this initiative in Prague on Tuesday with several European leaders, including Polish President Andrzej Duda and Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, Danish PM Mette Frederiksen, Dutch PM Mark Rutte, Latvian PM Evika Siliņa, as well as representatives from the United States.
Fiala did not provide details on the planned deliveries.
In addition to the Czech initiative, discussions will cover Ukraine’s air and missile defense, aiming to improve the coordination of aid to the country.
