Robert Lewandowski will remain a player for FC Barcelona next season, the Polish striker told Catalan daily Mundo Deportivo on Wednesday.

Lewandowski, the club’s top scorer, said: “I want to win many titles with this club, FC Barcelona. I believe we can play stronger and win trophies in the upcoming season.”

He added: “I believe we can triumph next season. From the bottom of my heart, I want to give as much as possible to our team and club.”

He also pointed to his good health, saying that he still feels good both physically and mentally.

The Polish striker expressed confidence that the frequent appearances of young players on the field this season will enhance the club’s quality and strength in the 2024-25 competitions.

Lewandowski said: “I hope the experience gained by these young players will be beneficial in the upcoming competitions.” The Thursday interview puts an end to recent speculation regarding Lewandowski’s future at FC Barcelona, as some Spanish commentators had claimed he intended to leave the Catalan club.

Robert Lewandowski, 35, joined FC Barcelona in July 2022, making the move from Bayern Munich. At the time, he signed a four-year contract with Barça, bringing his prolific goal-scoring talent to the Catalan club.
