Arkadiusz Milik has stolen the headlines after engineering a thrilling comeback in yesterday’s six-goal thriller between Bologna and Juventus, which featured four Polish players.
Sharing the spoils in a remarkable 3-3 draw, the result leaves both sides level on points in third place with just one game to go. The penultimate match of the season had been billed as a battle between two Polish keepers, with Wojciech Szczęsny in goal for Juve and Łukasz Skorupski guarding the net for resurgent Bologna.
Onward to their highest finish in decades, it was Bologna who drew first blood with Ricardo Calafiori putting the hosts in front with two-minutes on the clock. Only nine minutes later Poland’s youngster Kacper Urbański set up Santiago Castro for a perfect opportunity and the Argentinian doubled Bologna’s lead before Calafiori added to his tally in the 53rd.
Juventus were down, but not out. Having withstood Bologna’s barrage, Federico Chiesa gave the visitors a glimmer of hope with a well-taken goal in the 76th minute. Seven minutes later, that hope turned to belief, with Milik stepping up to fire home a stunning free kick.
With 49 goals in 151 games, no Pole has ever scored more goals in Serie A than Milik.
At the other end of the table, Hellas Verona beat Verona 2-1, with Paweł Dawidowicz playing the entire ninety minutes for the victorious visitors, and Karol Świderski later joining him on the pitch as a substitute.
The final round of games this weekend will see Bologna travel to mid-table Genoa and Juventus play Monza at home. As things stand, Bologna sit higher than Juventus on the strength of having scored two more goals than The Old Lady.

Taking a slight deflection, the perfectly executed set piece left Skorupski lying helpless in the netting. On a night of high drama, Kenan Yildiz then completed the comeback with a deft long-range finish a minute later.𝐀𝐑𝐊𝐀𝐃𝐈𝐔𝐒𝐙 𝐌𝐈𝐋𝐈𝐊 𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐅𝐈𝐀 𝐙 𝐑𝐙𝐔𝐓𝐔 𝐖𝐎𝐋𝐍𝐄𝐆𝐎! ⚽️😍
