One in two Poles support returning draft-age Ukrainian men to their country’s army, a recent survey has shown.

An IBRiS researcher’s poll, which the Polish Rzeczpospolita daily published, found that 50.7% of respondents were in favor of sending the Ukrainian conscripts back to Ukraine, while 39% were against it.

Another 10.3% of those polled were undecided.

The survey follows last month’s statement by Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, the Polish Defense Minister, that “Poland is ready to assist Ukrainian authorities in this matter.”

However, he did not provide any specific details.

The survey was conducted on May 10–11, 2024 on a representative group of 1,071 Poles.
