The foreign ministers of Poland and the UK, Radosław Sikorski and David Cameron, held a telephone conversation on Tuesday in which they discussed the need to provide continued assistance to Ukraine in its war with Russia.

Poland’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs wrote on the X platform on Tuesday: “Min. @sikorskiradek talked today [by phone] with his [British] counterpart @David_Cameron on the subject of the ongoing Russian aggression against [Ukraine] and challenges in the context of security more broadly.

“The ministers agreed on the necessity of further support for Ukraine in its fight,” the post read.

Ukraine has recently started receiving the latest tranche of US military assistance after Congress passed a long-delayed aid bill providing for over 61 billion dollars of support. The aid comes as Ukrainian forces battle a resurgent Russia that has been on the offensive in recent weeks, pushing through defensive lines and taking ground particularly in the northeast of Ukraine, around Kharkiv, the country’s second-largest city.

Kyiv has complained of a lack of arms and ammunition and expressed frustration with the pace at which its western allies take and implement decisions on providing military support.
