Hubert Hurkacz powered into the fourth round of the Italian Open following a straight sets win that saw the World No. 9 record eleven aces against Tomas Martin Etcheverry.

With neither player able to break the other’s serve, the first set went to a nail-biting tie-break which Hurkacz edged 9-7. In the second set, the Wrocław-born Pole was able to break twice to romp away with a 6:2 win.

Seeded seventh in the Italian Open, Hurkacz made headlines in the previous round after downing the legendary Rafael Nadal 6:1, 6:3. Though 37-years-old and in the winter of his career, the Spanish veteran is regarded as the greatest ever player to grace the clay courts.

Hurkacz will now be looking to continue his form in the fourth round where he’ll face either Argentine Sebastien Baez or Holger Rune of Denmark.
