Iga Świątek saw off Yulia Putintseva from Kazakhstan in straight sets (6:3, 6:4) in the third round match of the WTA 1000 tournament on clay courts in Rome that spanned an hour and 47 minutes.
The next opponent of the world ranking leader will be the winner of the match between Germany’s Angelique Kerber (WTA 331) and Belarus’s Aliaksandra Sasnovich (WTA 113).
