A 57-year-old man in Southern Poland has been arrested after police discovered a hoard of World War II munitions, among them a Panzerfaust and MP28 submachine gun.
Police swooped on a remote rural property close to Myślenice and found an arsenal of weaponry that include thirteen firearms, landmines, bullets, shells, a submachine gun and a Panzerfaust - a shoulder-held weapon commonly used to destroy tanks.
According to a police statement, the man had spent the last twenty years traveling across Poland unearthing weapons. A specialist unit was sent from Kraków to secure the weapons which have now been sent for further analysis.
The man was detained under Article 109 c of the Act on the Protection and Care of Monuments.
